• From Design to Installation: Step-by-Step Guide for Deck Installation

    A deck at a residence.

The allure of a well-designed deck lies not only in its aesthetic appeal but also in the potential it holds for transforming your outdoor space into a haven for relaxation, entertainment, and leisure. Whether you’re an avid DIY enthusiast or seeking the expertise of professionals, this comprehensive guide aims to navigate you through the intricacies of deck installation, from the initial design phase to the finishing touches, ensuring a seamless and rewarding process.

    Step 1: Planning and Design

Before embarking on the journey of constructing your dream deck, meticulous planning and thoughtful design serve as the cornerstones of a successful installation. Begin by conducting a comprehensive assessment of your needs and setting a realistic budget.

What Is a Deck Used for?

Define the purpose of your deck – whether it’s a space for entertaining guests, al fresco dining, or a tranquil retreat. Consider factors such as sun exposure, prevailing winds, and privacy when selecting the optimal location for your deck.

    Determine the Size

Once the purpose and location are determined, deliberate on the size and shape of your deck, taking into account available space, budget constraints, and architectural harmony with your home. The choice of materials is pivotal; weigh the pros and cons of options like pressure-treated wood, composite decking, or tropical hardwoods based on considerations of durability, maintenance, and aesthetic preferences.

    Detailed Design

Create a detailed design that encompasses dimensions, elevation changes, and structural elements. Don’t overlook features such as railings, stairs, and additional amenities like built-in seating, as they play a crucial role in the functionality and visual appeal of your deck.

    Get the Necessary Permits

With your design in hand, navigate the bureaucratic landscape by obtaining the necessary permits from your local building department, ensuring adherence to stringent regulations.

Step 2: Gathering Materials and Tools

Armed with a well-thought-out design, the next phase involves gathering the requisite materials and tools essential for a smooth and efficient construction process. Develop a comprehensive list that includes decking boards, joists, beams, concrete or helical footings, fasteners (screws, nails, bolts), ledger boards, flashing, post anchors, caps, railings, and balusters.

    Get the Right Tools

Equip yourself with the right tools for the job, encompassing a circular saw, power drill, level, tape measure, chalk line, shovel, post-hole digger, and framing square. Ensuring you have the appropriate materials and tools at your disposal sets the stage for a successful and stress-free installation.

    Step 3: Site Preparation

The construction site acts as the canvas for your outdoor masterpiece, and adequate preparation is vital for a solid foundation. Begin by marking and laying out the deck’s perimeter using stakes and string, ensuring that the layout accurately reflects your design and maintains a square configuration.

    Ensure Stability

Execute precision in excavation, and digging post holes by local building code requirements. To fortify your deck’s stability, introduce concrete footings or opt for helical footings, tailoring the choice to your specific needs and the demands of your local environment.

    Step 4: Framing

The framing phase is the architectural backbone of your deck, providing essential support for the impending decking boards. Initiate the process by affixing the ledger board to the house, ensuring a level alignment and proper flashing. Forge a secure connection between the ledger board and the house’s rim joist using lag screws.

    Secure the Posts

As you set and level the beams atop the footings, employ appropriate hardware to secure them to the posts. For the joists, adhere to the specified spacing outlined in your design, attaching them to the beams with hangers or brackets for added stability.

    Step 5: Decking Installation

Transitioning from the structural foundation to the visible allure of your deck, the decking installation phase brings your vision to life. Commence with a meticulously planned layout, maintaining parallelism to the house for a professional aesthetic. Ensure a uniform gap between boards to facilitate water drainage and employ screws or nails for secure fastening.

    Prepare the Perimeter

Give due attention to the perimeter by expertly trimming the decking boards to fit, utilizing a circular saw for precise and clean cuts. This step enhances the visual cohesiveness of your deck and paves the way for a polished finish.

    Step 6: Railings and Balusters

Safety and aesthetics converge in the installation of railings and balusters. Begin by affixing sturdy posts at strategic corners and intervals along the deck perimeter, securing them with appropriate hardware, and ensuring plumb alignment. Introduce top and bottom rails to create a framing structure for the balusters.

    Make Sure Rails Are Level

Precision is key in confirming that the rails are both level and securely attached. Subsequently, insert balusters between the top and bottom rails, adhering to local building codes regarding spacing and height requirements. This phase adds a finishing touch while ensuring the safety of your deck users.

    Step 7: Stairs and Landings

For decks featuring changes in elevation or multi-tiered designs, stairs and landings become integral components. Strategically plan the location of stairs, considering accessibility and design aesthetics. Construct stair stringers – either custom-made using treated lumber or pre-cut stringer kits for efficiency.

    Secure Access Point

Attach the stringers securely to the deck frame using appropriate hardware, then introduce treads and risers to complete the staircase. Incorporate landings where turns or elevation changes occur, ensuring these are not only aesthetically integrated but also securely attached to the deck structure. This meticulous approach guarantees the creation of a safe and functional access point to your deck.

    Step 8: Finishing Touches

With the structural elements in place, the final phase involves adding the finishing touches that elevate your deck from functional to extraordinary. Begin by sanding the deck surface to eliminate any rough spots, contributing to a smooth and comfortable outdoor experience. Apply a weather-resistant sealant to protect the wood from the elements, extending the lifespan of your deck.

    Enhance Visual Appeal

Enhance visual appeal and safeguard exposed post ends by installing post caps, and choosing styles that compliment your deck’s overall design. Transition your deck from a construction project to a personalized outdoor sanctuary by furnishing it with suitable outdoor furniture and accessories. Consider additions like planters, lighting fixtures, and outdoor rugs for an extra layer of comfort and style.

    Maintain Properly

To ensure the longevity of your investment, establish a routine maintenance schedule. Regular cleaning and inspections will enable you to identify and address any issues promptly, preserving the integrity and beauty of your deck for years to come.

Empowering Homeowners in Their Deck Building Efforts

From the initial spark of inspiration to the final flourish of finishing touches, this comprehensive guide aims to empower homeowners and DIY enthusiasts with the knowledge and guidance necessary for a successful deck installation. • Securing Your Property: Exploring the Options for Utility Doors

Utility doors of a brick structure.

The security of any property, whether residential or commercial, is a top priority for homeowners, property managers, and business owners alike. While attention is often focused on securing main entry points such as doors and windows, utility doors are an equally crucial aspect of property security that is frequently overlooked.

    Providing Essential Benefits

Utility doors provide access to essential services such as electricity, gas, water, and telecommunications, making them potential targets for unauthorized entry and tampering. In this article, we will delve into the importance of securing utility doors and explore a variety of options available to enhance their security.

Understanding the Importance of Utility Door Security

Utility doors are often situated in less visible or accessible areas of a property, making them prime targets for intruders seeking discreet entry points. From residential homes to industrial facilities, these doors provide access to critical infrastructure that, if compromised, can result in significant consequences.

    Problems With Unauthorized Access

Unauthorized access to utility doors can lead to theft, vandalism, or even sabotage, posing serious safety risks to occupants and causing extensive property damage. Therefore, ensuring the security of utility doors is essential for protecting both the property and its inhabitants.

The Consequences of Neglecting Utility Door Security

The ramifications of neglecting utility door security can be severe and far-reaching. In addition to the risk of theft and vandalism, unauthorized access to utilities poses significant safety hazards. For example, tampering with gas lines or electrical systems can lead to leaks, fires, or electrocution.

    Interfering With Water Supply Lines

Similarly, interfering with water supply lines can result in flooding and water damage. These potential hazards not only endanger the lives of occupants but also incur substantial financial losses in terms of property damage and liability. Furthermore, breaches of utility security can disrupt essential services, causing inconvenience and disruption to daily activities.

Exploring Security Options for Utility Doors

Fortunately, there are numerous options available to enhance the security of utility doors, ranging from basic measures to more advanced security systems. Let’s explore some of the most effective security solutions.

    High-Security Locks

Installing high-security locks on utility doors is a fundamental step in fortifying their defenses. These locks feature advanced mechanisms designed to withstand various forms of attack, including picking, drilling, and prying. Options such as cylinder locks with restricted keyways or electronic keypad locks offer enhanced protection against unauthorized entry. Additionally, the use of heavy-duty deadbolts and reinforced strike plates further reinforces the door’s resistance to forced entry attempts.

    Reinforced Door Construction

The structural integrity of utility doors can be strengthened through reinforced construction materials and design features. Opting for doors made of robust materials such as steel or reinforced fiberglass enhances their resistance to physical attacks.

    Reinforced Door Hinges

Additionally, reinforcing the door frame and hinges helps to prevent tampering and forced entry. For added security, consider installing security screens or grilles over utility doors to provide an extra layer of protection without compromising ventilation or visibility.

    Access Control Systems

Implementing access control systems adds an extra layer of security to utility doors by regulating entry based on authorized credentials. This can range from basic keycard systems to more sophisticated biometric authentication methods such as fingerprint or facial recognition.

    Restricting Access

Access control systems allow property owners to restrict access to designated personnel while maintaining a detailed log of door activity. Additionally, integrating access control systems with surveillance cameras enables real-time monitoring and recording of entry events for added security.

    Security Cameras and Surveillance

Strategic placement of security cameras around utility doors serves as a powerful deterrent to potential intruders and provides valuable surveillance footage in the event of security breaches. Modern surveillance systems offer features such as motion detection, night vision, and remote monitoring capabilities, enhancing overall property security.

    Visible Cameras

By installing visible security cameras and signage indicating the presence of surveillance systems, property owners can deter intruders and enhance the overall security posture of their property.

    Alarms and Intrusion Detection

Integration of alarms and intrusion detection sensors with utility doors enables immediate notification of unauthorized access attempts. Audible alarms and visual alerts alert occupants and security personnel, prompting swift response measures. Additionally, connecting these systems to centralized monitoring stations ensures rapid intervention in emergencies. By combining alarms with surveillance cameras and access control systems, property owners can create a comprehensive security ecosystem that effectively detects and deters intruders.

    Perimeter Protection

Securing the perimeter surrounding utility doors is crucial for comprehensive property security. Installing fences, gates, and barriers restricts unauthorized access to these vulnerable areas and creates a physical barrier against intruders.

    Motion-Activated Lighting

Motion-activated lighting and landscaping strategies can also deter intruders and improve visibility for surveillance purposes. Additionally, deploying security patrols or guard dogs can further enhance perimeter protection and provide an additional layer of security for utility doors and other access points.

    Security Signage and Deterrents

Displaying prominent signage indicating the presence of security measures serves as a powerful deterrent to potential intruders. Warning signs highlighting the use of surveillance cameras, alarms, or security patrols reinforce the perception of risk and discourage unauthorized access attempts. Additionally, installing visible deterrents such as security bollards or spike strips around utility doors can further dissuade intruders and enhance the overall security of the property.

    Regular Maintenance and Inspection

Regular maintenance and inspection of utility doors are essential to ensure optimal functionality and security. This includes lubricating hinges, replacing worn-out components, and addressing any signs of damage or deterioration promptly.

    The Importance of Inspections

Scheduled inspections by qualified professionals help identify potential security vulnerabilities and mitigate risks proactively. By conducting routine maintenance checks and addressing any issues promptly, property owners can ensure that their utility doors remain secure and operational at all times.

    Robust Security Measures

Securing utility doors is a critical aspect of property management and protection. By implementing a combination of robust security measures tailored to the specific needs of each property, homeowners and facility managers can effectively mitigate risks and safeguard their premises against unauthorized access and potential threats. Prioritizing utility door security not only enhances the safety of occupants but also preserves the integrity of essential services and infrastructure within the property.

    Peace of Mind Through Security

By investing in comprehensive security solutions, property owners can achieve peace of mind knowing that their assets are well-protected against intrusions and emergencies. White or neutral-colored vinyl blends seamlessly with contemporary homes, providing a chic and understated look. Pair your minimalist patio cover with modern furniture and subtle landscaping to create a cohesive and stylish outdoor space.

    2. Classic Elegance

If you prefer a more traditional aesthetic, consider a vinyl patio cover with classic architectural details. A classic white vinyl patio cover can complement various home styles, from Colonial to Victorian. Add comfortable, timeless outdoor furniture and lush greenery to complete the elegant look.

    3. Tropical Oasis

Transform your patio into a tropical paradise with a vinyl patio cover that evokes the feeling of an exotic getaway. Surround your patio with tropical plants, such as palms and hibiscus, and add vibrant, island-inspired furniture and décor to complete the oasis.

    4. Rustic Retreat

For a cozy, rustic outdoor space, consider a vinyl patio cover that mimics the look of natural wood. Modern vinyl materials can replicate the texture and appearance of wood without the associated maintenance issues. A wood-look vinyl patio cover can provide a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a rustic retreat. Pair it with wooden furniture, vintage lanterns, and plenty of natural elements to enhance the rustic charm.

    5. Pergola-Style Covers

Pergola-style vinyl patio covers offer a perfect blend of shade and openness, making them an ideal choice for those who want to enjoy the best of both worlds. You can customize your pergola-style cover with climbing plants, such as wisteria or grapevines, to add a natural touch. This design is perfect for creating a romantic and airy outdoor space.

    6. Retractable Vinyl Covers

For ultimate flexibility, consider a retractable vinyl patio cover. These covers can be adjusted to provide full shade, partial shade, or no shade at all, depending on your preference and the weather. Retractable covers are ideal for homeowners who want to maximize their outdoor space’s versatility. Whether you want to bask in the sun or stay cool in the shade, a retractable vinyl cover offers the perfect solution.

    7. Integrated Lighting

Enhance the functionality and ambiance of your vinyl patio cover by integrating lighting into the design. Built-in LED lights, string lights, or lanterns can create a warm and inviting atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy your patio well into the evening. Choose lighting fixtures that complement the style of your patio cover and furniture to create a cohesive look. Integrated lighting not only adds beauty but also improves the safety and usability of your outdoor space.

    8. Solar Panels

For an eco-friendly addition to your vinyl patio cover, consider incorporating solar panels into the design. Solar panels can provide sustainable energy for your outdoor lighting, heating, or even household appliances. This innovative solution allows you to reduce your carbon footprint while enjoying the benefits of a covered patio. Modern solar panels can be seamlessly integrated into the structure of your patio cover, maintaining its aesthetic appeal.

    9. Outdoor Kitchen Integration

Take your outdoor entertaining to the next level by integrating an outdoor kitchen under your vinyl patio cover. A well-designed outdoor kitchen can include a grill, sink, refrigerator, and ample counter space for food preparation. By adding a vinyl cover, you can protect your kitchen area from the elements, ensuring it remains functional and attractive throughout the year. Choose a durable and easy-to-clean vinyl material that can withstand the rigors of outdoor cooking.

    10. Custom Shapes and Sizes

Vinyl patio covers can be customized to fit any space, making them a versatile choice for homeowners with unique patio layouts. Whether you have a small, intimate patio or a large, expansive one, a custom vinyl cover can be designed to suit your needs. Consider unique shapes, such as curved or angled covers, to add visual interest and functionality to your outdoor space. Customization ensures that your vinyl patio cover perfectly complements your home and landscape.

    11. Seasonal Decor

Changing the décor with the seasons can keep your outdoor space fresh and inviting year-round.

    12. Privacy Features

  • Why Vinyl Fencing Is the Perfect Choice for Your Property

White vinyl fence around a property.

When it comes to selecting the ideal fencing material for your property, the choices can be overwhelming. From traditional wood to modern aluminum, each material offers distinct advantages. However, vinyl fencing stands out as a top contender for many homeowners and property managers. Its unique blend of durability, low maintenance, and aesthetic appeal makes it highly attractive. Additionally, vinyl fencing offers excellent safety and security features. Here’s why vinyl fencing is the perfect choice for your property.

    1. Durability

Vinyl fencing is renowned for its exceptional durability. Unlike wood, which can rot, warp, or be infested by termites, vinyl is impervious to these issues. It’s designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, including intense sunlight, heavy rain, and strong winds. This means your vinyl fence will maintain its structural integrity and appearance for years to come, making it a long-term investment that pays off.

    2. Low-Maintenance

One of the most significant advantages of vinyl fencing is its low-maintenance requirements. Unlike wood fences that need regular staining, painting, or sealing, vinyl fences require minimal upkeep. A simple wash with soap and water is usually sufficient to keep your vinyl fence looking new. This ease of maintenance saves you time, effort, and money in the long run.

    3. Aesthetic Appeal

Vinyl fencing is available in a wide range of styles, colors, and textures, allowing you to choose a design that complements your property’s aesthetic. Whether you prefer the classic look of a white picket fence, the elegance of a privacy fence, or the charm of a ranch-style fence, vinyl offers versatile options to suit any taste. Additionally, vinyl fences do not fade or lose their color over time, ensuring that your property always looks its best.

    4. Safety and Security

Safety is a crucial consideration when choosing a fence, especially for families with children or pets. Vinyl fencing is an excellent choice for providing a secure and safe environment. The solid construction of vinyl fences means there are no gaps for small animals to squeeze through or for intruders to exploit. Furthermore, vinyl is a non-toxic material, so you don’t have to worry about harmful chemicals leaching into the soil or posing a risk to your family and pets.

    5. Eco-Friendly Option

Vinyl fencing is an environmentally friendly choice for several reasons. First, it is made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which is a recyclable material. Many manufacturers use recycled vinyl in their products, reducing the demand for new raw materials. Additionally, the long lifespan and low maintenance requirements of vinyl fencing mean fewer resources are needed for repairs or replacements. This sustainability makes vinyl fencing a responsible choice for environmentally conscious homeowners.

    6. Cost-Effectiveness

While the initial cost of vinyl fencing may be higher than some other materials, its long-term cost-effectiveness is undeniable. The durability and low maintenance of vinyl fences mean you will save money on repairs, replacements, and upkeep over the years. Moreover, the value that a well-maintained, attractive fence adds to your property can offset the initial investment, making vinyl fencing a financially wise choice.

    7. Ease of Installation

Vinyl fencing is designed for straightforward installation. Many vinyl fence systems come with interlocking panels that are easy to assemble, even for DIY enthusiasts. The lightweight nature of vinyl makes it easier to handle and maneuver during installation, reducing the labor and time required. For those who prefer professional installation, the process is typically quicker and less labor-intensive compared to other fencing materials, which can translate to lower installation costs.

    8. Versatility

Vinyl fencing’s versatility is another reason it’s a popular choice. It can be used for various applications, from privacy fencing and decorative borders to pool enclosures and garden trellises. The adaptability of vinyl fencing allows you to customize your property according to your specific needs and preferences, providing both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

    9. Resistant to Pests and Decay

Unlike wood, vinyl fencing is impervious to pests such as termites and carpenter ants. This resistance to pests not only prolongs the lifespan of your fence but also ensures that it remains structurally sound and attractive over time. Additionally, vinyl does not decay or rust, making it an ideal choice for areas with high humidity or frequent rainfall.

    10. Increased Property Value

A well-maintained, attractive fence can significantly enhance the curb appeal and value of your property. Vinyl fencing, with its durability, low maintenance, and aesthetic versatility, is an excellent choice for boosting your property’s marketability. Potential buyers or renters will appreciate the added privacy, security, and visual appeal that a vinyl fence provides, making your property more desirable.

    11. Weather Resistance

Vinyl fencing is highly resistant to weather-related damage. Unlike wood, which can splinter or crack in extreme temperatures, vinyl remains stable and intact regardless of the weather. This makes it an excellent choice for properties in areas with harsh climates, whether it’s scorching summers or freezing winters. Vinyl fencing doesn’t absorb moisture, so it won’t swell or warp after heavy rain or snow. This resilience ensures your fence will look great and function well year-round.

    12. Variety of Designs

Vinyl fencing comes in a wide variety of designs, allowing you to find the perfect match for your property’s style. Whether you prefer a sleek, modern look or a more traditional design, there’s a vinyl option to meet your needs. From lattice-topped panels to decorative post caps, the customization options are extensive. This variety ensures that your fence not only serves its functional purpose but also enhances the overall aesthetic of your property.

    13. Noise Reduction

Vinyl fencing can also serve as a noise barrier, making it a great choice for properties in busy or noisy areas. The solid panels can help reduce sound transmission, creating a quieter and more peaceful environment. This is particularly beneficial for homes near busy roads or commercial areas, where noise pollution can be a concern. A vinyl fence can help you enjoy your outdoor space without the constant intrusion of outside noise.

    14. Privacy

Privacy is often a key consideration when choosing a fence, and vinyl fencing excels in this area. The solid, opaque panels of a vinyl privacy fence provide complete seclusion, blocking the view into your yard from the outside. This is ideal for creating a private oasis in your backyard where you can relax and enjoy your outdoor space without worrying about prying eyes. Vinyl fencing ensures your personal space remains personal.

    15. Fire Resistance

Vinyl fencing is also fire-resistant, adding an extra layer of safety to your property. Unlike wood, which can easily catch fire and spread flames, vinyl is not combustible. This fire resistance makes it a safer option for areas prone to wildfires or for properties where fire safety is a particular concern. By choosing vinyl fencing, you’re not only protecting your property’s appearance but also enhancing its overall safety.

  • Wood Fence vs. Vinyl Fence: Comparing the Two

Why Wood May Not be the Best Option

The wood fence has been around since day one. Today, technology and new materials have changed the fencing world and now there are more options, than ever when it comes to your fence material. Don’t get us wrong, wood fences look amazing! We still offer a wood fence option but we recommend something else because of what hardships come with a wood fence.

    Problems with Wood Fence

Wood fences are not easy. They are quite difficult to handle. Wood fences must be treated, painted or stained on a regular basis. We estimate that the owner of a wood fence is going to spend time and money painting or staining every few years to maintain the fence’s appearance and to protect the wood fence from weathering. Wood fencing that is exposed to the elements of California will eventually rot over time, creating a less stable fence with a short lifespan.

If you still decide you want a wood fence, that’s okay. We offer a very nice wood fence product. But we believe we have an alternative you will like more.

    A Better Option

At Saddleback Fence and Vinyl Products, we want to provide you with the best fence solution for your project. If you are interested in a wood fence, we suggest you look at our Bufftech woodgrain vinyl fence also known as Certagrain vinyl. This fence eliminates the problems that are notoriously associated with a wood fence. Plus, it looks and feels like wood!

Bufftech woodgrain vinyl fencing material is virtually maintenance free. It won’t warp, rot, splinter, peel or blister like a traditional wood fence. It never needs sanding, staining or painting. Occasionally, it will need to be rinsed with a garden hose. That is all you must do to keep it looking its best.

Our woodgrain vinyl fence is stronger and more flexible than wood. To be exact it is five times stronger and four times more flexible than wood, allowing it to absorb the impact of everyday run-ins by lawnmowers or tree branches. Each woodgrain vinyl fence is built with precision-routed rails to ensure a safe, secure picket attachment and easy assembly giving you more support and security than a traditional wood fence.

Worried about the color of the fence? Our woodgrain fence is made and stained with ColorLast by CertainTeed. It is the only dark color fade protection, “an acrylic formulation that provides superior protection from the harsh rays of the sun.” (Certainteed)

What about pricing? Isn’t vinyl more expensive?

How Does Wood Compare to Vinyl?

If you look at the cost of a wood fence and a vinyl fence, the initial cost of vinyl is going to be a little bit higher. But in approximately 20 years, the cost of maintaining a wood fence will be 75% more expensive than the initial price of a vinyl fence. Look at this article by Bufftech.

In this same article, you can see the separation of performance features. The chart shows the features of differences between Bufftech (woodgrain vinyl) and wood.

The top reasons why vinyl is better than wood are its durability, low maintenance, and has a great warranty.

We Leave the Decision to You

At the end of it all, you need to decide whether woodgrain vinyl fencing or wood fencing is the right choice for your property. We can only lay out the facts about each product and empower you to make the choice. Make sure to take the time to look at each benefit and the cost.

  • Everything You Need to Know About Vinyl

    History of the Fence

Since the early days of human history, owning property has been a thing to be grasped. Most of the time the property would be secured and divided by a wood fence. There wasn’t a traditional wood fence we see today. Fences were most likely piles of wood strategically elevated on A-frame wood structures. We know a few ways people in history have utilized fences. Shepherds guarded their sheep, homes were secured, and estate boundaries were set. Much of the same happens today. But with the addition of technology, you have a few more advanced options to choose from.

In 2019, you can choose a classic wood fence. But it will need a lot of maintenance and the cost/benefit doesn’t translate positively. You can choose an aluminum or steel fence but these lack the privacy a home needs. Your next options are a vinyl fence or the new molded fence. Vinyl fence is the one we’re going to continue to focus on. It is a classic and we love all the benefits that come with it.

    What is Vinyl?

Vinyl is a premium quality polyvinyl chloride or most recognized as PVC. PVC is a strong and durable plastic material made specifically for longevity in mind. Saddleback’s vinyl products provide excellent impact strength and UV resistance. It won’t rot, warp, split, or splinter. We also give you options to choose from. Saddleback has 2 smooth colorways and 12 more woodgrain textured colorways.

If you like the look of wood but want the durability, security, and low maintenance of a vinyl fence, look at our woodgrain vinyl products here.

    The Process Overview

Saddleback has installed over 5,000 vinyl fence projects over the past 10 years. The process beings with a job walk when we meet you at your property and estimate your job. One of our experienced sales representatives will arrive at the time you agreed to. With your permission, they will walk your property to gather the information they need for your job.

When they finish, you will receive a quote based on the information they gathered. The quote will be sent to you via email or in person.

Once you have decided you are ready to sign the contract, we will put you on the schedule and begin installation on your assigned date. The length of time it takes to be installed depends on the job size and difficulty of your vinyl fence project. The installation process isn’t the prettiest. What a Vinyl Fence from Saddleback Can Do for You

Saddleback has been in the fencing industry for a long time. We know what good material is and what isn’t. If you missed our last blog about why Saddleback has the best vinyl fence, you can read it today. There are 3 main benefits you receive once your new vinyl fence is installed.

You get the security you desire. Our standard 6-foot-high vinyl fence is a detractor to trespassers. It has extra stability with U-Channel to keep the tongue and groove pickets on the panel from loosening.

Along with security, you get a product that is low maintenance. Many fences have issues with dry rot, termites, and dirt. Saddleback’s vinyl fences only require the occasional rinse.

After it’s installed or rinsed your home will look amazing! When a house looks as good as yours will, trust us, the property value goes up as well.

Vinyl is One of the Best Fence Materials Available

In the end, it’s up to you to decide who to go with when you want a new vinyl fence. You can choose a company with great experience, a product you will absolutely love, and a fence you will enjoy for a long time.

    Saddleback’s White Vinyl Fence

We have gone through the process of testing many vinyl products. Most of the products we tested didn’t meet Saddleback standards, but one did.

When we started the process, we were looking for a product we could be proud of, one we knew our customers would love to see every day for a very long time.

The key points we were looking for were durability, low maintenance, and aesthetic.

Have you ever heard of “shadow fencing”? Shadow fencing is a fence built with material so thin you can see the objects on the other side of the fence. It isn’t completely transparent, but you can tell it’s thin.

At Saddleback, shadow fencing is unacceptable. We tested a batch of vinyl products to see if there was a better option than the one we chose.

    Nothing compares.

Here are three reasons Saddleback’s white vinyl fence is the most durable fence on the market.

    1. Saddleback’s fence is going to last even in the California sun. Our white vinyl fence has a protective layer called ACCU-Shield to reduce oxidation. It also helps prevent sun damage.
    2. It’s thick. There will be no shadowing with our fence. You can feel the high-quality material.
    3. We take extra measures to secure your fence. In every vinyl fencing job, our customers will receive two longevity components. We install U-Channel, an additional piece of vinyl that holds the tongue and groove boards in place. And we also install an Aluminum Bottom Stiffener into the bottom rail to prevent your fence from sagging.

Saddleback’s vinyl fence is very durable and low maintenance.

    Low to No Maintenance

Saddleback’s white vinyl fence boasts low or no maintenance. Depending on the area you live in, you may need a small amount of maintenance. By maintenance we mean you rinse it off with a hose because it’s a little dirty. Sometimes you don’t have to do anything! Doesn’t that sound nice?

The traditional fence is made of wood. Wood is great but it has its problems. Wood attracts termites. It dries out and rots. And you must stain it on a yearly basis. It is a pain.

We will write about the major differences in the future. So, stay tuned.

    Simple, Yet Beautiful

Finally, Saddleback’s white vinyl fence will upgrade the look of your property.

The right fence can improve your property’s overall look. The look of a white vinyl fence is clean and classic. It isn’t gaudy but it stands out.

Our white vinyl fence matches every color home too. It looks great with grey, yellow, blue, black, purple, orange and any other color you can think of.

When we install a fence, we make sure it looks beautiful. Our professional installers have years of experience and a plethora of satisfied customers.

White vinyl fence is a classic.

    Simple but beautiful.
